The Graveyard Shift
off-road tour in West Virginia

6 hr Tour

Inspired by the hardworking miners who once worked through the night, The Graveyard Shift off-road tour is Highwall Expeditions' signature nighttime adventure, taking riders deep into the heart of southern West Virginia after dark. Guided by the glow of headlights, whip lights, and moonlight, you'll experience the mountains, highwalls, and historic coal country in a way few people ever will.

As the trail winds through rugged terrain, towering highwalls rise from the darkness, old mining operations stand silent, and the sounds of the mountains take over. Owls call from the timber, distant machinery echoes through the valleys, and the same roads once traveled by miners working the overnight shift become your path through the coalfields.

This isn't a haunted tour. It's a journey into the history, mystery, and beauty of Appalachia after sunset.

The Graveyard Shift combines the excitement of nighttime UTV riding with the rich heritage of West Virginia's coal country. Whether you're watching moonlight spill across the highwalls, climbing mountain trails under the stars, or feeling the glow of your machine cut through the darkness, every mile offers an entirely different perspective of the mountains we call home.
